Abstract

A non-invasive stereotactical instrument for identifying the spatial position of an area in a patient's skull which is to be subjected to treatment. The instrument comprises a non-yielding frame (1), which is arranged to be supported by the patient's skull (6) and to support an indicating device (42) and/or a treatment instrument. A bite block (18) is movably attached to the frame and arranged to engage the upper teeth in the skull or the palate. At least one pair of interacting fixing means (27, 28) provided with a scale (49) are displaceably attached to the frame (1) and arranged to engage, by means of support elements (30), the skin of the occipital bone of the skull (6) in a non-invasive manner.
