Abstract
A microfluidic device for trapping nonmagnetic and magnetic beads (6) is disclosed which device has an inlet (2), an outlet (20) and a bead trapping filter (4) wherein said bead trapping filter comprises a wall with slots wherein the openings of the slots is less than the diameter of the beads. The filter (4) is provided in an enlarged zone (2a) and may extend around the flow axis - e.g. a box-like shape. The device may be used in a method of sequencing-by-synthesis.
