Claims (4)

a) contacting α d and VCAM-1 in the presence and absence of the intended modulator compound;
b) detecting binding between α d and VCAM-1 and
c) the identification of the putative modulator compound in connection with reduced or increased binding between α d and VCAM-1 in the presence of the putative modulator compared to the binding in the absence of the putative modulator.

e) the identification of modulating compounds as compounds affecting the binding between the specified immobilized binding partner and the specified labeled binding partner.
