Abstract

FIELD: communication devices. SUBSTANCE: candidate area for switching of communication channel for mobile set in cellular communication network which has current area and several adjacent areas, where current area and adjacent areas include at least one umbrella area and several small-size areas. Selection of candidate area for switching of channel from current area to adjacent area is done by means of measurement of a parameter of input signal which is received by mobile hand set from at least one basic node of cellular network for given time interval. Criteria for making judgment include detection of step alternations in parameter to be measured. EFFECT: increased functional capabilities.
