Abstract

FIELD: sorption technics. SUBSTANCE: method provides active carbons and carbon adsorbents suitable for gas purification, recovery of volatile solvents, preparation and purification of water, purification of soils, and use as gas mask adsorbents. Method consists in that crushed carbon- containing material is mixed with a binder and then granulated; obtained grains are carbonized, activated at 850-950 C to burning off 20-40% and then at the same temperature to burning off 42-70%, each time burned carbon being cooled in absence of oxygen to 20-50 C at the rate 10-40 C/min. Active carbon obtained is crushed to particle size 0.2-1.5 mm. EFFECT: improved quality of material.

Claims (1)

60-100°C.The invention relates to a sorption technique and can be used to produce activated carbons and carbon adsorbents used in gas purification, recovery of volatile solvents, water treatment and water purification, soil cleaning, as well as gas mask technology. The crushed carbon-containing material is mixed with a binder, granulated, carbonized, granules are activated at a temperature of 850–950 ° С until a burn of 20–40 wt.%, And then at the same temperature until a burn of 42–70 wt.%, And after each activation, coal cooled without access of air to a temperature of 20-50 ° C with a rate of temperature decrease of 10 - 40 ° C / min. The resulting activated carbon is crushed to particles with a size of 0.2 - 1.5 mm. This method allows to obtain activated carbon, significantly superior to those known for mechanical strength while maintaining a high level of adsorption capacity for vapors of organic substances with a boiling point of 60-100 ° C.
