Abstract

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves thermostating blood of newborn child for 24 h at 37 C. Then chemoluminescence is measured. Its intensity value being 1.9 times higher, bacteriemia is to be diagnosed. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of diagnosis.

Claims (1)

The method is intended for use in neonatology. The objective of the invention is the rapid diagnosis of bacteremia. For this, the blood of the newborn is preincubated for 24 hours at 37 ° C, after which chemiluminescence is measured and bacteremia is diagnosed with an increase in its intensity by more than 1.9 times. The method allows the doctor to promptly prescribe adequate therapy to a sick newborn and, thereby, reduce the number of complications and improve the condition of the child.
