Description

Field of technology to which the invention relates

The invention relates to a folding box containing a tray and a lid that can be opened in various ways.

State of the art

Folding boxes with a tray and various closing systems are known in a variety of designs. Such folding boxes exist, for example, with simple side walls or side walls with a hollow edge. Closing systems are designed, for example, in the form of insert lids. In the ECMA (European Carton Makers Association) catalogue, the code B40.20.82.50 designates a folding box with simple side walls, adhesive tabs on the corners and an insert lid. The code B49.21.00.51 designates a folding box with side walls with a hollow edge, sealing triangular tabs on the corners and an insert lid.

In the case of conventional folding boxes with a tray and lid, the lid can only be opened in one specific way.

Disclosure of the essence of the invention

Based on this, the invention is based on the task of creating a folding box that includes a tray and a lid, the lid of which has expanded functionality.

The problem is solved by means of a folding box with the features of claim 1 of the invention formula. Preferred embodiments of the folding box are indicated in the dependent claims of the invention formula.

A folding box according to the invention, comprising a tray with a bottom and side walls and a lid with a lid wall for closing the tray, is characterized in that the lid has two connecting tabs connected to at least one side wall of the tray, two corner connecting tabs, each of which is connected via a vertical first fold line to a connecting tab and via a horizontal second fold line to a first edge of the lid wall, a dividing line running perpendicular to the first edge and dividing the lid wall into two halves of the lid wall, and an insert tab connected via a third fold line to a second edge of the lid wall opposite the first edge, overlapping the dividing line and divided by a fourth fold line running in continuation of the dividing line into two halves of the insert tab, as a result of which the lid wall can optionally either fold back by folding along the horizontal second fold lines between the corner connecting tabs and the lid wall, or open outward by folding the insert tab along the third fold line to the inside of the lid wall and by folding the halves of the lid wall along the fourth fold line on the insert tongue and along the vertical first fold lines between the corner connecting tongues and the connecting tongues.

In the case of the folding boxes according to the invention, the lid can be opened in two different ways. On the one hand, this can be done in the conventional way by folding along the horizontal second fold lines between the corner connecting tabs and the lid wall. On the other hand, this can be done by folding the insert tab to the inside of the lid wall and by folding the lid wall halves, including the insert tab halves connected to them, along the fourth fold line on the insert tab and folding the lid wall halves, including the corner connecting tabs connected to them, along the vertical first fold lines between the corner connecting tabs and the connecting tabs. When the lid wall is closed, the edges of the lid wall halves, between which the dividing line runs, are adjacent to one another. This is also the case if the lid is opened in the conventional way by folding along the horizontal second fold lines. However, with the alternative opening method, the edges of the halves of the lid wall that form the second edge of the lid wall are adjacent to each other when the lid is open. In addition, with this opening method, the same sides of the lid wall are directed upwards before and after opening. Thanks to the two different opening methods that can be used optionally, the folding box has an increased attention index, which can be used to stimulate sales. In addition, there is the possibility of applying the printing on the lid wall in such a way that, thanks to the different orientations of the printing on the two halves of the lid wall, before and after opening according to the second opening method, different graphic images and/or data are presented and/or presented in a manner that is preferable for the observer. The different images can be coordinated with the closed folding box and with the arrangement of the product in the open folding box.

According to a further embodiment, each half of the lid wall has a diagonal fold line that extends from the end of the dividing line on the last edge of the lid wall to the outer end of the second edge of the lid wall. The diagonal fold lines facilitate the opening of the lid by the second opening method, since both halves of the lid wall can then be easily deformed along the diagonal fold lines, thereby facilitating the simple sliding of the lid wall.

According to an embodiment of the invention, the connecting tongues are inserted into parallel first insertion grooves at the outer ends of the side wall of the tray. As a result, the connecting tongues can be connected to the tray in a simple manner. According to a further embodiment, the connecting tongues are glued to at least one side wall of the tray. As a result, the connecting tongues are connected to the tray in a simple and reliable manner. In this case, the connecting tongues can be inserted into the insertion grooves or glued to the outside of at least one side wall. According to a further embodiment, the connecting tongues are adjacent to two parallel side walls of the tray.

According to a further embodiment, the connecting tongues have a trapezoidal shape, wherein the height of the connecting tongues decreases with increasing distance from the vertical first fold lines. As a result, insertion of the connecting tongues into the insert grooves can be facilitated. According to a further embodiment, the connecting tongues have the shape of isosceles trapezoids.

According to a further embodiment, the corner connecting tongues have the shape of rectangular trapezoids, wherein the horizontal second fold lines fall on the bases of the trapezoids, and the vertical first fold lines on the side faces of the trapezoids that run perpendicular to the bases. As a result, material-saving and visually pleasing corner connecting tongues are achieved.

According to a further embodiment, the lid is designed to be inserted with the insertion tongue from above into the tray, so that the insertion tongue is locked behind the side wall of the tray. As a result, the lid can be held in the closed state of the tray. According to a further embodiment, the insertion tongue can be inserted into a second insertion groove on the upper edge of the side wall of the tray. As a result, the insertion tongue can be held in place on the tray in a most secure manner. Alternatively, the insertion tongue can be glued to the outside of the side wall, so that the lid can be opened after the insertion tongue has been detached from the side wall. For this purpose, the lower part of the insertion tongue, which is connected with the side wall by means of glue, can be separated from the upper part of the insertion tongue along a perforation line or another weakening line.

According to a further embodiment, the insert tongue has the shape of an isosceles trapezoid with a width decreasing from the second edge of the lid wall. As a result, insertion of the insert tongue into the second insert groove can be facilitated.

According to a further embodiment, the tray is a tray with a hollow edge. The design of the tray as a tray with a hollow edge facilitates in particular the execution of the first insertion grooves and/or the second insertion groove. According to a further embodiment, each of the first insertion grooves is formed on the fold line between the blind tongue and the side wall and on the next side wall folded to the blind tongue. According to a further embodiment, the second insertion groove is formed on the fold line between the outer part of the side wall and the horizontal upper part of the side wall of the tray with a hollow edge. According to a further embodiment, the tray with a hollow edge has a thumb hole adjacent to the second insertion groove. As a result, it is easier to push the insertion tongue out of the second insertion groove.

According to a further embodiment, the lid wall has support tabs on both side edges adjacent to the second edge and projecting outwardly, which between the two connecting tabs are adjacent to the upper edge of the tray when the lid wall is opened by the second opening method. As a result, the open lid has a support in the open position and can be used for placing objects, for example a product removed from the tray.

Implementation of the invention

In this application, the references “top” and “bottom” and “horizontally” and “vertically” refer to the arrangement of the folding box with the tray bottom on a horizontal base and with side walls projecting upward relative to the bottom, whereby when the lid is closed, the lid wall is located above the bottom.

According to Fig. 1, the first cutting 1 includes a rectangular bottom 2, which is connected at its lateral edges via fold lines with the side walls 3, 4, 5, 6. In order to form a hollow edge, each side wall 3, 4, 5, 6 includes an inner part 3 ^I , 4 ^I , 5 ^I , 6 ^I of the side wall and an outer part 3 ^II , 4 ^II , 5 ^II , 6 ^II of the side wall, which are connected at the upper edges via fold lines with the opposite edges of the upper part 3 ^III , 4 ^III , 5 ^III , 6 ^III of the side wall. Each upper part 3 ^III , 5 ^III of the side wall has at both ends outwardly projecting end sections 3 ^IV , 5 ^IV , which are separated by cutting lines from the inner parts 3 ^I , 5 ^I of the side wall.

The inner parts 3 ^I , 4 ^I , 5 ^I , 6 ^I of the side wall are connected at each of their lower edges through fold lines with the bottom tongues 7, 8, 9, 10.

The outer part 5 ^II of the side wall, which is connected to one of both long edges of the bottom 2, is connected on both side edges by triangular tongues 11 ^I , 11 ^II , 12 ^I , 12 ^II with the side edges of the adjacent outer parts 4 ^II , 6 ^II of the side wall, which are hingedly connected through fold lines to the short edges of the bottom 2.

The same outer part 5 ^II of the side wall has a trapezoidal projection 13 on its upper edge in the middle, which is separated by a cutting line from the adjacent upper part 5 ^III of the side wall. In the area of the projection 13, the same outer part 5 ^II of the side wall has an approximately semicircular opening 14 for the thumb.

Each upper part 3 ^III , 5 ^III of the side wall is connected on both side edges through fold lines with rectangular blind tongues 15, 16, 17, 18.

The outer part 3 ^II of the side wall is connected on both side edges through fold lines with rectangular blind tongues 19, 20.

Each inner part 4 ^I , 6 ^I of the side wall is connected on both side edges through fold lines with strip-shaped blind tongues 21, 22, 23, 24, each of which has a bevel at the top and a radius at the bottom.

The cutting essentially coincides with the cutting of the tray with code B49.20.00.00 according to the ECMA catalogue.

According to Fig. 2, at the first step of assembly, the upper and inner parts 3 ^III , 5 ^III , 3 ^I , 5 ^I of the side wall are folded along their fold lines with the outer parts 3 ^II , 5 ^II of the side wall to the inner side of the cut.

After this, according to Fig. 3, the long side walls 3, 5 are installed in a vertical position. They are shown in a vertical position in Fig. 4. The bottom tongues 7, 9 rest on the bottom 2.

In the next step, according to Fig. 5, the blind tongues 15, 16, 17, 18 connected to the upper parts 3 ^III , 5 ^III of the long side walls 3, 5 are folded vertically downwards. According to Fig. 6, the blind tongues 19, 20 connected to the outer parts 3 ^II , 5 ^II of the long side walls 3, 5 are then folded from the outside to the above-mentioned blind tongues 15, 16.

After this, the outer parts 4 ^II , 6 ^II of the short side walls 4, 6 are folded upward, and the triangular tongues 11 ^II , 12 ^I , 12 ^II are folded inward until they and the outer parts 4 ^II , 6 ^II of the side wall are adjacent to the adjacent blind tongues 17, 18. In this case, the first insert grooves 25, 26 are formed between the outer parts 4 ^II , 6 ^II of the side wall and the blind tongues 19, 20.

After this, the upper parts 4 ^III , 6 ^III of the short side walls 4, 6 are folded onto the end sections 3 ^IV , 5 ^IV of the upper parts 3 ^III , 5 ^III of the long side walls 3, 5. Finally, the inner parts 4 ^I , 6 ^I of the short side walls 4, 6 are folded into the space between the long side walls 3, 5, whereby they are folded with their blind tongues 21, 22, 23, 24 under the end sections 3 ^IV , 5 ^IV . The bottom tongues 8, 10 are folded toward the upper side of the bottom 2, so that they protrude inward relative to the inner parts 4 ^I , 6 ^I of the side wall.

Along with the projection 13, the upper part 5 ^III of the side wall has a second insert groove 27.

The tray 28 assembled in this manner is shown in Fig. 7.

According to Fig. 8, the second cutting 29 of the lid 30 includes a substantially rectangular lid wall 31, two substantially trapezoidal connecting tongues 32, 33 and two angular connecting tongues 34, 35 in the form of rectangular trapezoids.

Each connecting tongue 32, 33 is connected via a vertical first fold line 36, 37 with an angular connecting tongue 34, 35. Each angular connecting tongue 34, 35 is connected via a horizontal second fold line 38, 39 with the first edge 40 of the wall 31 of the lid.

The wall 31 of the lid is divided in the middle by a dividing line 41 extending from the first edge 40 into two halves 31', 31'' of the lid wall. The dividing line 41 extends to the opposite second edge 42. Through a third fold line 43, the second edge 42 is connected to the insert tongue 44, which is located in the middle of the second edge 42 and overlaps the dividing line 41. In continuation of the dividing line 41, the insert tongue 44 has a fourth fold line 45, which divides the insert tongue 44 into two halves 44 ^I , 44 ^II of the insert tongue. The insert tongue 44 has a trapezoidal shape, and its width decreases with increasing distance from the second edge 42.

In addition, the wall 31 of the lid has diagonal fold lines 46, 47, each of which extends from the junction of the dividing line 41 with the first edge 40 to the outer end of the second edge 42. Along with the end of the second edge 42, each half 3', 31'' of the wall of the lid has outwardly protruding support tabs 48, 49 on the adjacent side edge.

According to Fig. 9 and 10, to connect the cover 30 to the tray 28, first the connecting tongues 32, 33 are bent perpendicularly relative to the corner connecting tongues 34, 35.

According to Fig. 11, the cover 30 is inserted with connecting tongues 32, 33 into the first insert grooves 25, 26 between the blind tongues 19, 20 and the outer parts 4 m, 6 ^II of the short side walls 4, 6. According to Fig. 12, the cover 30 is closed by folding along the horizontal second fold lines 38, 39. In addition, the insert tongue 44 is inserted into the second insert groove 27.

To open the lid 30, the insert tab 44 can be pushed out of the second insert groove 27 with the thumb. After this, the lid 30 can optionally be opened in the conventional manner by folding along the horizontal second fold lines 38, 39, in the opposite direction to close the lid from the position shown in Fig. 11.

Alternatively, the lid 30 can be opened by folding the insert tongue 44 under the lid wall 31 and then folding the two halves 31', 31'' of the lid wall towards each other along the fourth fold line 45 and along the vertical first fold lines 36, 37 outwards. This is shown in Figs. 13 and 14. They also show that with this method of opening, each of the halves 31', 31'' of the lid wall is partially folded along the diagonal fold lines 46, 47. However, at the end of the opening process, the two halves 31', 31'' of the lid wall are oriented horizontally again. In the open state according to Fig. 15, the two halves 31', 31'' of the lid wall abut against each other with corresponding sections of the second edge 42 of the lid wall 31. In addition, support tongues 48, 49 are located on the upper side of the upper part 3 ^III of the side wall and support the wall 31 of the lid in the open position.

Subsequently, the lid 30 can be closed again due to the fact that the opening movement is performed in the opposite direction.

Claims (17)

1. A folding box comprising a tray (28) with a bottom (2) and side walls (3, 4, 5, 6) and a lid (30) with a lid wall (31) for closing the tray (28), characterized in that the lid (30) has two connecting tabs (32, 33) connected to at least one side wall (4, 6) of the tray (28), two corner connecting tabs (34, 35), each of which is connected via a vertical first fold line (36, 37) to the connecting tab (32, 33) and via a horizontal second fold line (38, 39) to the first edge (40) of the wall (31) of the lid, a dividing line (41) running perpendicular to the first edge (40) and dividing the wall (31) of the lid into two halves (31', 31'') of the lid wall, and an insert tab (44) connected via a third fold line (43) to the second edge (42) of the wall (31) of the lid opposite the first edge (40), overlapping the dividing line (41) and divided by an extension dividing line (41) by the fourth fold line (45) into two halves (44', 44'') of the insert tongue, as a result of which the wall (31) of the lid can optionally either be folded back by folding along the horizontal second fold lines (38, 39) between the corner connecting tongues (34, 35) and the wall (31) of the lid, or opened outward by folding the insert tongue (44) along the third fold line (43) toward the inside of the wall (31) of the lid and by folding the halves (31', 31'') of the lid wall along the fourth fold line (45) on the insert tongue (44) and along the vertical first fold lines (36, 37) between the corner connecting tongues (34, 35) and the connecting tongues (32, 33). 2. A folding box according to claim 1, in which each half (31', 31'') of the lid wall has a diagonal fold line (46, 47) that extends from the end of the dividing line (41) on the first edge (40) of the lid wall (31) to the outer end of the second edge (42) of the lid wall (31). 3. A folding box according to claim 1 or 2, in which the connecting tongues (32, 33) are inserted into parallel first insert grooves (25, 26) at the outer ends of the side wall (3) of the tray (28). 4. A folding box according to any one of paragraphs 1-3, in which the connecting tongues (32, 33) are adjacent to two parallel side walls (4, 6) of the tray (28). 5. A folding box according to any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein the connecting tabs (32, 33) have a trapezoidal shape, and the height of the connecting tabs (32, 33) decreases with increasing distance from the vertical first fold lines (36, 37). 6. A folding box according to any one of claims 1-5, in which the corner connecting tabs (34, 35) have the shape of rectangular trapezoids, wherein the horizontal second fold lines (38, 39) fall on the bases of the trapezoids, and the vertical first fold lines (36, 37) fall on the side faces of the trapezoids that run perpendicular to the bases. 7. A folding box according to any one of paragraphs. 1-6, in which the lid (30) is designed with the possibility of being inserted with an insert tongue (44) into a second insert groove (27) on the upper edge of the side wall (5) of the tray (28). 8. A folding box according to any one of paragraphs 1-7, in which the insert tongue (44) has the shape of an isosceles trapezoid with a width decreasing from the second edge (42) of the wall (31) of the lid. 9. A folding box according to any one of claims 1 to 8, wherein the tray (28) is a tray with a hollow edge. 10. A folding box according to item 9, in which each of the first insert grooves (25, 26) is made on the fold line between the blind tongue (19, 20) and the side wall (3) and on the next side wall (4, 6) folded toward the blind tongue (19, 20). 11. A folding box according to any one of paragraphs. 1-10, in which the second insert groove (27) is formed on the fold line between the outer part (5 ^II ) of the side wall and the horizontal upper part (5 ^III ) of the side wall of the tray with a hollow edge. 12. A folding box according to claim 11, in which the tray with a hollow edge has on the outer part (5 ^II ) of the side wall an opening (14) for a thumb, adjacent to the second insert groove (27). 13. A folding box according to any one of claims 1 to 12, in which the wall (31) of the lid has on both side edges support tabs (48, 49) adjacent to the second edge (42) and protruding outwardly, which between two connecting tabs (32, 33) adjoin the upper edge of the tray (28) when the wall (31) of the lid is opened by the second opening method. 14. A folding box according to any one of paragraphs 1-13, in which the internal parts (3 ^I , 4 ^I , 5 ^I , 6 ^I ) of the side wall have bottom tabs (7, 8, 9, 10) on their lower edges, which rest on the bottom (2). 15. A folding box according to claim 14, in which the bottom tongues (7, 8, 9, 10) protrude relative to the inner parts (3 ^I , 4 ^I , 5 ^I , 6 ^I ) of the side wall inward, and each of them has bevels at both ends, and adjacent bottom tongues (7, 8, 9, 10) rest on each other with bevels.
