Abstract
1. A method for producing hydrocarbon fuel, which includes: - slurry hydrocracking of heavy feedstock to obtain slurry hydrocracking products; - separation of these slurry hydrocracking products to obtain a pitch stream and a heavy VGO stream; - mixing at least a part of the pitch stream with a solvent in order to dissolve part of the pitch in the solvent; and mixing the dissolved portion of the pitch with at least a portion of the heavy VGO stream to form a blended product. The method of claim 1, which further comprises separating the dissolved portion of the pitch from the solvent prior to said mixing step. The process of claim 1, wherein the slurry hydrocracking of said heavy feedstock comprises pitch conversion of at least 85% by weight. The method of claim 1, wherein said solvent has a density no greater than that of heptane. A device for producing hydrocarbon fuel, which includes: - a slurry hydrocracking reactor for reacting heavy feedstock and hydrogen on a catalyst to obtain slurry hydrocracking products; - a separator for separating hydrogen from slurry hydrocracking products, which is connected to said slurry hydrocracking reactor; - a fractionation section 80 which is connected to said slurry hydrocracking reactor for fractionating at least a portion of said slurry hydrocracking products, wherein said fractionation section 80 has a side outlet for venting a heavy VGO stream and a bottom outlet for venting a pitch stream;
