Abstract
Electric room heater with magnetostriction has a striplike heating elements made of oriented cold rolled transformer stations plate. Alternate current heats strip, therewith making changeable magnetic field and magnetorestriction so the strip better conducts heat energy to air and has improved degree of use of thermal energy. In figure 1, curve (3) shows change in the air temperature in the room when heating is done by the electric heater with magnetorestriction of power of 2 kW, and a curve (2), the change in the air temperature when heating is done by a radiator with oir power of 2,1 kW. For air heating up to 240C electric heater with magnetorestriction spends energy 2,0 kW*9,5/60 h=0,316 kWh. Oil radiator spends 2,1 kW*27,2/60 h=0,96 kWh. Electric heater with magnetorestriction spends 3,04 times less energy. In longer time interval temperature is kept by means of a thermostat, at e.g. 23±10C, and the ratio of energies used is 1,82 due to the time intervals when the when the air is cooled.
