Abstract
Ammunition using a casing, which permits the propellent charge to be removed and reinserted, includes a connecting region (H1) at the nose (42) and another connecting region (H2) at the base (44) for a thread or cord (1.1) extending from end to end. The base has an internally threaded boss (32) projecting inwards with a hole (28) through it, into which can be inserted an ignition charge. The thread may be of nylon and subjected to tensile force, and passes through a plug (18) which screws into the boss. It is broken when a min. tensile force applied to it is exceeded. The free end of the thread passing through the plug incorporates a portion which can be removed afterwards. In an alternative form, a tube is used instead of a thread.
