Abstract

THE PRESENT APPLICATION DESCRIBES AN ARTICULATED CHAIR OF THE TYPE OF USED FOR REST AND TRANSPORTATION OF PERSONS WITH REDUCED MOBILITY, WHICH COMPREHENSES A CHASSIS WITH THREE SECTIONS (1,2,3) LINKED BETWEEN THEM THROUGH TWO AXLES (4,5) AS WELL AS PERMIT THE HINGE, OPENING AND CLOSING MECHANISM, A SET OF UPPER RETRACTABLE HANDLES (7) AND LOWER RETRACTABLE HANDLES (8) TO ENABLE AND FACILITATE HANDLING. THE TECHNOLOGY NOW PRESENTED ALLOWS THE EASY HANDLING OF THE WHOLE STRUCTURE, THEIR TRANSPORTATION AND PACKAGING.

DESCRIPTION "Hinged chair"

Technical Field The present application discloses an articulated chair, which may preferably be used for the transport of persons with reduced mobility.

BACKGROUND FR2794643 discloses a hinged chair characterized in that it has a chassis composed of numerous handles connected to each other by means of shafts, without support braces and without any opening mechanism of the type shown in the present application. On the contrary, the chair now disclosed discloses a lower technical complexity, maintaining or even increasing safety standards and ease of use for the user.

The present invention describes an articulated chair comprising the following elements: a chassis with three sections (1,2,3) connected to each other by two axles (4,5); - an opening and closing mechanism, formed by a telescopic system which is formed by a lever (6), with a pin (15) at one of its ends, a guide tube (13) and a tube (14); - a set of upper retractable handles (7); - a set of lower retractable handles (8).

In one embodiment, the sections 2 and 3 of the articulated chair are connected to each other by the axis 4 and the sections 1 and 3 by the axis 5.

In a further embodiment, the connection between the sections (2) and (3) of the articulated chair forms a "scissors" type articulation.

In yet another embodiment, the hinged opening and closing mechanism of the hinged chair is placed between Sections (2) and (3).

In one embodiment, the lever 6 of the articulated chair is coupled to a guide tube 13 by means of securing elements 16,16a and on its inner face a spring 17 is engaged.

In a further embodiment, the guide tube 13 of the hinged chair has a hole 20 and in that the tube 14 has a hole 18 and that the pin 15 is inserted in the hole 20 and in the hole (18).

In yet another embodiment, the hinged chair comprises braces 9 and 10 between sections 1 and 2 and in that said braces 9 and 10 are formed of an aperture serving as a guide , respectively, to guide shafts (11) and (12).

In one embodiment, the arms (9) and (10) of the articulated chair block the section (1).

In a further embodiment, the hinged chair comprises lateral bars (19) which cause the section (2) to rotate on the axis (4) counterclockwise. In a further embodiment, the side bars 19 of the articulated chair have an "s" configuration.

Figures 5 to 9 illustrate a schematic representation of the closing movement of the chair.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS The present application describes an articulated chair of the type used for resting and transporting persons with reduced mobility, comprising a chassis with three sections (1,2,3) connected to each other by two axles (4, 5) in order to allow it to be articulated, an opening and closing mechanism, a set of upper retractable handles (7) and lower retractable handles (8) in order to enable and facilitate their handling. The chair thus presented allows, in addition to easy handling of the entire structure, its transport and packaging. In particular, the sections 2 and 3 are connected to one another by the axis 4, making it possible to create a "scissors" type articulation and the sections 1 and 3 by the axis 5. Between the sections 1 and 2, braces 9 and 10 are applied which are comprised of an aperture serving as a guide, respectively, to the guide shafts 11 and 12, and that, when the chair is open , ie in use, said braces 9 and 10 will block the section 1 so that it does not move in either direction.

Between the sections 2 and 3 is applied an opening and closing mechanism formed by a telescopic system whose course is sufficient for opening and closing the chair and which is composed of a lever 6 with a pin 15) at one of its ends, coupled to a guide tube (13) through the fastening elements (16, 16a), the inner face of which engages a spring (17) which allows said lever (6) to hold the pin (15) at one of its ends, inserted into the hole (20) of said guide tube (13) and into the hole (18) in the tube (14).

Note that when the chair is open, the position of the hole 18 coincides with the hole 20, both of which are crossed by the pin 15. To close the chair, the lever (6) is actuated by removing the pin (15) from the hole (18) in the tube (14) and the hole (20) of the guide tube (13) chassis as shown in Figures 5 to 8. In order to keep the chassis stable, side bars 19 are applied which, in the closing movement, cause the section (2) to rotate on the axis (4) in the anti- -schedule. The s-shaped configuration of said side bars 19 allows no interference with any of the other structures when the chair is closed. The present embodiment is of course not in any way restricted to the embodiments described herein and a person of ordinary skill in the art may foresee many possibilities of modifying it without departing from the general idea as defined in the claims.

The preferred embodiments described above are obviously combinable with each other. The following claims further define preferred embodiments.
