Abstract

A structural frame member having a major part (12) and a minor part (14) connected by at least one collapsible part (16), where the two parts may be drawn together to trap an item between spaced formations (26, 42) extending from the sides of the parts. Preferably the extending formations are L shaped flanges which may have a gripping surface or be provided with sealing means and inter-engaging end formations (32, 36) which overlap when the member is collapsed. In an alternative embodiment the major and minor parts include side walls (18) where the major part is connected by two spaced webs (20, 22) and the minor part by a single web, and each part has means (28) for retaining a cover strip (56, figures 3 and 4). Also disclosed is a glazed structure incorporating the collapsible structural members.
