Abstract

Key (1) having an end (6) attached to a cap (7) mounted between two plates of a casing (2) in order to rotate about a pivot axis (11) between a retracted position in which the key is inside the casing and a key-extended position, a control pushbutton (17) is mounted in the casing to slide along the pivot axis between, on the one hand, a position in which the cap is held in at least the retracted position and, on the other hand, a position in which the cap is free to pivot, the cap comprising a housing (10) that receives a pivot (16) having ends received in the plates to guide the cap as it rotates, and the control pushbutton being mounted in one of the plates and comprising at least one end portion that is received in a recess (30) in the corresponding end of the pivot for sliding between the holding position and the release position and that is provided with a projection (24) received in a groove (12) in the housing defining the extended and retracted positions of the cap.
