Abstract

A brake device for a two-wheeled motor vehicle is provided with: a brake pedal which has a base end pivotally supported by the vehicle body frame and which has a front end provided with a pedal section; an operating arm which is interconnected with the base end of the brake pedal and which extends upward; a front wheel brake; a rear wheel brake; and an equalizer which is connected to the operating arm so that operating force on the brake pedal is distributed to both the front wheel brake and the rear wheel brake. The upper end of the operating arm (27) is connected to one end of the equalizer (28), an operating force transmission means (29) which transmits operating force to the front wheel brake (BF1) is connected to the other end of the equalizer (28), and a rear operating force transmission means (30) which transmits operating force to the rear wheel brake (BR) is connected to the intermediate section of the equalizer (28). Consequently, a part of the equalizer is capable of being operated in the direction opposite the direction of movement of the operating arm.
