Abstract

La invencion se refiere a un aparato para la purificacion de gas de sintesis bruto que comprende un recipiente orientado verticalmente que comprende: (a) una seccion inferior que comprende una entrada para el gas de sintesis bruto, una salida para el agua rica en contaminantes ubicada debajo de la entrada para el gas de sintesis bruto, un lecho de material de embalaje ubicado sobre la entrada para el gas de sintesis bruto y al menos una entrada para el agua ubicada sobre el lecho de material de embalaje y por debajo de la seccion intermedia; (b) una seccion intermedia ubicada directamente por encima de la seccion inferior y conectada de manera fluida con dicha seccion inferior que comprende varias bandejas de separacion correspondientes a varias etapas teoricas en el rango de 8 a 20 y al menos una entrada para el agua ubicada sobre las bandejas de separacion; y (c) una seccion superior ubicada directamente sobre la seccion intermedia y conectada de manera fluida con dicha seccion intermedia que comprende medios de separacion, al menos una entrada para el agua ubicada sobre los medios de separacion y una salida para el gas de sintesis purificado ubicada sobre la entrada para el agua. La invencion tambien se refiere a un proceso para purificar gas de sintesis mediante el uso del aparato descrito anteriormente
