Abstract

589111 A container is formed by trimming a thermoformed precursor or preform to provide an outwardly extending peripheral profile (3). The trimming cut locus (7) reverts to a relaxed position directly under the peripheral profile after the trimming cut is made. The container may be a tray formed so that the cut edge (7) does not interfere with a wrap path of plastic film surrounding the tray and contents.
