Abstract

A method of treatment of tree or vines infected with a xylem invading pathogen, including the steps of: a) Drilling a hole into the central region or heart wood of the stem, trunk, or branches of the tree or vine, and b) Injecting an amount of a low concentration solution of salicylic acid or a salt thereof into the hole that is effective to prevent, limit, control or cure the infection of the tree or vine and substantially without a phytotoxic reaction.
