Abstract

tamper indicating closure for a container having a neck with a threaded section and an annular bead or flange below the threaded section is claimed. The closure comprises a cap 3 having a top wall and annular side wall 7 depending downwardly form the top wall. A thread 8 on an inside surface of side wall 7 is for locating the closure on the threaded section of the container neck. The closure has a tamper indicating member 9 and a means connecting the tamper indicating member 9 and a lower section of side wall 7. Tamper indicating member 9 comprises an annular band 13, a plurality of locking tabs 15, a plurality of flexible hinges 17 interconnecting tabs 15 and band 13 and a plurality of triangular shaped webs 21 connected to the diverging side edges of adjacent locking tabs.
