Abstract

Recombinant or substantially pure preparations of H. pylori polypeptides are described. The nucleic acids encoding the polypeptides also are described. The said polypeptides are useful for diagnostics and vaccine compositions for the prevention or treatment of a H. pylori infection. This invention also incorporates a drug-screening assay by contacting a test compound with the purified H. pylori polypeptide and a method for the detection of H. pylori by using the purified fragment as a hybridisation probe.
