Abstract
Foreliggende oppfinnelse er rettet mot en fremgangsmåte for bestemmelse av et kommunikasjons- systems kanalimpulsrespons (CIR), slik som CIR for radiokanaler i et digitalt mobilradionett (GSM-nett). Spesielt angår foreliggende oppfinnelse bestemmelse av CIR basert på mottaking av en kjent treningssekvens. Foreliggende oppfinnelse er basert på den innsikt at oppløsningen og det dynamiske området for den teknikk som er basert på enkel korrelasjon, kan forbedres ved å benytte en nylig utviklet «linjefjernings»-teknikk. Dette innebærer å ta CIR slik som bestemt i den enkle korrelasjonen, og frembringe en forfinet CIR hvor den forfinede CIR bestemmes ved å lokalisere den virkelige baneforsinkelse som representeres av toppene som resulterer fra den enkle korrelasjonen.
