Abstract

A first signal (10) proportional to the supply voltage and a second signal (9) proportional to the load current are utilized to modulate the period of two constant frequency carrier signals. The average of at least one of the modulated signals is determined by signal processing equipment to generate a reference value for the apparatus. Multiplying the modulated signals by the microprocessor produces the power product output signal. Subsequent values of the period-modulated voltage-related signal are collected. The collected value is periodically locked and fed to a computer. A pulse counter and a timing circuit may be arranged to receive and measure the voltage-related period-varying signal.
