Abstract

Ultrasonic or laser sensors, each comprising an ultrasonic or laser-ray emitting and receiving probe, have their probes (10, 11) arranged so as to provide first data representative of the height of an upper face of at least one product (1) carried by a board (3), at different points of this upper face, and second data representative of the height of the upper face of the board (3) at different points of the latter, the first and second data being obtained in the course of a relative running past between the probes and the board carrying one or more products, and the sensors are connected to a processing circuit (20) receiving the first and second data and comprising means for calculating the height of the products on the board from the first and second data. <IMAGE>
