remstilling av alkalisilikater ved hydrotermal direkte syntese, hvor alkalilut og aktivt siliciumdioxyd som i det vesentlige består av SiOog har en spesifikk overflate av over 50, fortrinnsvis over 200, omsettes under omrøring ved 60-110°C, fortrinnsvis 80-95°C, ved atmosfæretrykk inntil vannglass er blitt dannet, hvorefter reaksjonsblandingen eventuelt fil-treres, fortrinnsvis under anvendelse av filtrerings-hjelpemidler, som diatomitter, for å fjerne éventuelt forekommende uoppløselige restmaterialer fra det aktive siliciumdioxyd.
