The locking piece 14 is dimensioned so that a certain slack is present when the locking piece 14 is pushed into place in the first 18 or second bottom 19 of the device's fixed part 11, shown in fig. 3. The underside 15 will, when the swing arm fitting is closed, rest against the plateau 20 on the fixed part 11. Fig. 4 shows the relative position of the device's parts 9,11 in this case. The internal curve 17 can be shaped as a simple circular arc, but will work most satisfactorily in the fitting when it is composed of a lower 21 and an upper circular arc 22 which are given different radii of curvature and center, and which meet at a boundary point 23 approximately in the middle of the curve 17. The rotatable part 9 is further equipped with a short push member 24 which acts against a sliding surface 41 on the fixed part 11 when the swing arm fitting 3 is closed. The side 25 and the stop cam 26 work together with the pin 10 in the frame piece, so that positions which will be unfavorable for the device's way of functioning are avoided. Manual operation of the device is ensured by rotatable part 9 at the rear edge being provided with a folded lip 27 for attaching an operating device made of plastic or other material. Preferably, rotatable part 9 can also be provided with a protruding lever 28 for operation with a push button or the like from the window frame 2. Fixed part 11 will have a curved sliding surface 29 to absorb collisions with the apex 30 of the rotatable part 9 when the swing arm fitting 3 is closed from the fully open position .

The locking piece 14 is controlled in place in the first bottom 18 of the fixed part, as shown in fig. 6. Further opening of the swing arm fitting 3 is thus prevented. Slow opening of the swing arm fitting results in the same process, except that the top point 31 due to gravity will then hit a point on the upper circular arc 22 and from there guide the locking piece 14 down into the first bottom 18.

The cam 37 is also made lower than the cam 38, so that the swing arm fitting 3 can take a free position when opened quickly. With slow opening, however, the locking piece will be pushed down into the second base 19, and the swing arm fitting 3 will be set in a half-open, wide air position. The mechanical forces in the fitting thus ensure the correct exit path for the components in the device, so that during normal installation the fitting will go directly into the child-proof, half-open ventilation position shown in fig. 6.
