Abstract
In the speed-dependent handover method for hierarchical cell structures described here, a check is made, in the case of a mobile station moving into the coverage area of a microcell, as to whether the radio coverage of the mobile station with respect to the microcell is significantly or insignificantly improved within a time interval; in the case of a significant improvement, the microcell is barred for the fast moving mobile station. <IMAGE>
