Abstract
En audiokoder, en audiodekoder eller en audioprosessor omfatter et filter (12) for å generere et filtrert audiosignal, idet filteret har en variabel forvrengningskarakteristikk som er regulerbar som svar på et tidsvarierende styresignal (16), idet styresignalet indikerer en liten eller ingen forvrengningskarakteristikk eller en relativt høy forvrengningskarakteristikk. Videre er en styreenhet (18) tilkoplet for å tilveiebringe det tidsvarierende styresignal som avhenger av audiosignalet. Det filtrerte audiosignal kan innføres i en kodingsprosessor (22) med forskjellige kodingsalgoritmer, hvorav én er en kodingsalgoritme tilpasset et spesifikt signalmønster. Alternativt er filteret et postfilter som mottar et dekodet audiosignal.
