A plurality of longitudinal elements, such as e.g. a sential strength element, power supply lines, communication lines and the like are formed into a continuous unit with a fixed embedding mass. This embedding mass comprises a pressure sensitive adhesive to withstand shear forces during cable launching and pulling operations.
