Abstract
I en fremgangsmåte for termisk spalting av hydrokarboner under nærvær av damp, passerer ladeblandingen gjennom eksternt oppvarmede rør med spiralformede indre ribber, og for å gjøre temperaturen i rørveggen og i rørtverrsnittet mer ensartet, så vel som å redusere avleiringen av pyrolysekoks på rørets innervegg, blir en virvelstrøm generert i gassblandingen og blir gradvis smeltet sammen i en kjernesone med en overveiende aksial strømning med økende radial avstand fra ribbene.
