Abstract

Equalization of receiver signals in a digital receiver, using an equalization circuit (18) (DFE: Decision Feedback Equalizer). The receiver signal is one-dimensional or can be transformed into such a constellation (for example, within the modulation types BPSK, GMSK, OQPSK). The transfer function of the equalization circuit has coefficients which are determined so that an estimation value for a squared component's squared real part is sought to be minimized, and thus it is not the actual and complete error function that serves as an optimization basis. Accordingly, the calculation to give optimum equalization can be reduced to a real value calculation, the filter coefficients for the transfer function of the equalization circuit can also be kept real, and a suitable such equalization circuit is more easily found.
