Description
Basismateriale for hydrauliske væsker.
Produkter som skal egne seg for spesielle formål, så som for lavtemperatursraøring og drift av hydrauliske mekanismer, krever en kombinasjon av egenskaper som vanlige produkter i mange henseende ikke har. Egenskaper som er nødvendige for trygg og tilfredsstil-
lende lavtemperatur-drift omfatter lavt hellepunkt, slik at pro-
duktet vil virke i det minste ved så lave temperaturer som -40°c til
-50°C. En annen viktig egenskap som er nødvendig for disse anvend-
elser er en flat viskositetskurve, dvs. en høy viskositetsindeks,
slik at materialet kan brukes over store temperaturområder av den art som møtes under driften av fly. En av de nøkkelegenskaper som må
tas i betraktning ved fly for militær og kommersiell bruk, er mini-
mal brennbarhet. Andre viktige egenskaper omfatter forholdsvis høyt
kokepunkt, høy korrosjonsmotstand dg høy oksydasjonsmotstand.
Det er foreslått mange produkter for disse formål, f.eks. la-vere trialkylfosfater. Disse produkter har imidlertid høye slitas-je-egenskaper, er temmelig brennbare, delvis på grunn av sin flyk-tighet, og de er ved lave temperaturer ikke forlikelige med vanlige fortykningsmidler. For å overvinne disse uønskede egenskaper ble det foreslått å modifisere trialkylfosfater ved å tilsette dem eh liten mengde keton. Tilsetning av ketoner gir imidlertid ikke de egenskaper som er- nødvendige for hydrauliske væsker. Et eksempel på en slik blanding er beskrevet i U.S. pat.nr. 2.470.792.
Et annet forsøk på å. bruke trialkylfosfater besto i å tilsette dem en liten mengde triarylfosfat, f.eks. difenylkresylfosfat, en bestemt mengde av en lineær polymer av metakrylsyreestere, og en liten mengde av et epoksydprodukt, f.eks. glycidylhydrokarbyl-etere og hydrokarbonepoksyder, se. U.S. pat. nr. 2.636.861. Disse materialer ga imidlertid ikke særlig heldige resultater når de ble brukt i hydrauliske væsker for fly, da materialene savner alle de ovenfor nevnte kombinerte egenskaper.
Det er funnet at trialkylfosfater med hell kan brukes som hydrauliske væsker når de med visse begrensninger kombineres med visse andre materialer som gir egenskaper som kreves for den hydrauliske væske. Således kan trialkylfosfat kombineres med trikresylfosfat, trixylenylfosfat, et vi skositetsindeks-forbedrende middel, f.eks. polymetakrylat, et rusthindrende middel, et metall-deaktiverende middel, i bestemte mengder for å tilveiebringe en enestående kombinasjon av materialer som kan brukes som hydraulisk væske og som har de ønskede egenskaper.
Trialkylfosfat som med fordel kan brukes ved oppfinnelsen, kan være til stede i mengden fra 50 til 90 vekt% og fortrinnsvis fra 65 til 75 vekt%. Trialkylfosf ater som gir de beste resultater, er slike hvor hver alkylgruppe inneholder fra 3 til 12 karbonatomer, fortrinnsvis fra 4 til 9 karbonatomer. Alkylgruppene må ha rett-kjedet konfigurasjon. Et enkelt trialkylfosfat kan inneholde : de samme alkylgrupper i alle.tre stillinger eller kan inneholde en blanding av forskjellige alkylgrupper. Det kan brukes blandinger av forskjellige trialkylfosfater. Egnede trialkylfosfater som kan brukes i basismaterialet ifølge oppfinnelsen kan omfatte tripropyl-fosfater, tributylfosfater, triheksylfosfater, trioktylfosfater, dipropyloktylfosfat^ dibutyloktylfosfat, dipropylheksylfosfat, diheksyloktylfosfat, diheksylpropylfosfat, propylbutyloktylfosfat og blandinger av disse.
Basismaterialet ifølge oppfinnelsen må være kombinert med 50-10 vekt% triarylfosfat, som er en blanding av trikresylfosfat og trixylenylfosfat som også virker som fortykningsmiddel. Mengden av trikre-sylf osf at og trixylenylfosfat ligger på mellom 5 og 25 vekt% av hvert, fortrinnsvis 5 til 15%. Den kombinerte blanding av trikresylfos-
fat og trixylenylfosfat har en viskositet mellom 145 og 230 Saybolt universelle sekunder målt ved 38°c. Blandingen av materialer kan deretter kombineres med trialkylfosfat på hvilken som helst kjent måte.
Et konvensjonelt polymert materiale blandes deretter med blandingen av trialkylfosfat og triarylfosfat, og dette polymere materiale virker som et middel til-forbedring av viskositetsindeksen.
Det polymere materiale som blandes med basismaterialet, kan være en blanding av 10 til 55 vekt% polymetakrylater og polyakrylater, hvorav hvert inneholder fra 1 til 20 karbonatomer. De polymere materialer kan befinne seg i en oppløsningsmiddel-bærer, f.eks. di-2-etylheksyl-sebacat, dioktyladipat, di-2-etylheksyladipat eller andre konven-sjonelle bærere. Det polymere materiale kan være en hvilken som helst kombinasjon av disse materialer. Materialet blandes grundig med kombinasjonen av ingredienser til et ensartet materiale. Mengden av materiale kan utgjøre mellom 5 og 20 vekt%.
Deretter blandes materialene med et rusthindrende middel i en oppløsningsmiddel-bærer, f.eks. en alkylravsyre og dens derivater. Dette middel kan være til stede i mengder mellom 0,01 og 0,5 vekt%. Deretter tilsettes blandingen en korrosjonsinhibitor, f.eks. benzotriazol, chini2arin eller lignende i en mengde mellom 0,001 og 0,5 vekt% og blandes grundig med den. Deretter tilsettes og tilblandes blandingen et farvestoff i en mengde på 5 til 20 ppm på kjent måte. Det tilsettes også et konvensjonelt silikon-skumhindrende middel i
en mengde mellom 5 og 50 ppm..
Den forannevnte blanding av komponenter har de nødvendige egenskaper til å kunne brukes som en hydraulisk væske.
De hydrauliske væsker kan fremstilles på en måte som er illu-strert i følgende eksempler:
EKSEMPEL 1.
Trikresylfosfat i en mengde av 10,45 <y>ekt% ble grundig blan-
det med 8,55 vekt% trixylenylfosfat for å oppnå en viskositet på
155 Saybolt universelle sekunder målt ved 37°C. Denne blanding ble grundig blandet med 68,96 vekt% tributylfosfat. Deretter ble grundig
tilblandet 12 vekt% av en blanding av ca. 40% polyalkyl-metakrylat, og ca. 60% di-2-etylheksylsebacatopplØsningsmiddel-bærer. Deretter ble det blandet inn et konvensjonelt alkylravsyreholdig rusthindrende middel i en mangde av 0,02 vekt% i en oppløsningsmiddel-bærer. Deretter ble det grundig tilblandet 0,02 vekt% benzotriazol sammen med et konvensjonelt farvestoff og skumhindrende middel i en mengde av henholdsvis 10 og 15 ppm. Etter at de ovenfor nevnte ingredienser var grundig blandet til en homogen blanding, ble den hydrauliske væske grundig undersøkt og hadde følgende egenskaper:
EKSEMPEL 2.
Varmestabiliteten til en konvensjonell hydraulisk væske ble undersøkt og sammenlignet med basismaterialet ifølge oppfinnelsen. Således ble en prøve av et i handelen forekommende materiale under-søkt i overensstemmelse med metoden som er angitt i tabell V. Det aktive materiale var oktyldifenylfosfat. Den i centistoke ved 38°C målte viskositetsforandring var -0,25, mens nøytralisasjonstallfor-andringen, målt i milligram kaliumhydroksyd pr. gram, vat +7,57.
En sammenligning med den i tabell V i eksempel 1 viste varmestabili-tet illustrerer de overlegne egenskaper til produktet ifølge oppfinnelsen.
Claims (2)
1. Basismateriale for hydrauliske væsker, i det vesentlige bestående av en blanding av 50-90 vekt% trialkylfosfat, utvalgt fra grup-pen bestående av tripropylfosfat, tributylfosfat, triheksylfosfat, trioktylfosfat, dipropyloktylfosfat, dibutyloktylfosfat,. dipropylheksylfosfat, diheksyloktylfosfat, diheksylpropylfosfat, propylbutyloktylfosfat og blandinger av .disse, og 50-10 vekt% triarylfosfat, karakter is\ert ved at triarylfosfatkomponenten består av en blanding av 5-25 vekt% av hvert trikresylfosfat og trixylenylfosfat, regnet på hele sammensetningen, idet blandingen av trikresylfosfat og trixylenylfosfat har en viskositet på 145-230 Saybolt universelle sekunder, målt ved 38°C.
2. Basismateriale som angitt i krav 1, karakterisert ved at trialkylfosfatet er til stede i en mengde av fra 65 til 75 vekt%, og at trikresyl- og trixylenylfosfat hvert er til stede i mengder av fra 5 til 15 vekt%.
