Abstract

The folding partition or door comprises panels (1, 2, 3) which are hinged to one another, and placed in two adjacent rows. Those in one row are connected in pairs to guides (4) running in at least one rail (5). The guides carry a rod for each pair of panels, and this rod is connected in a hinged fashion in at least two places to each panel of its corresponding pair. The hinged connection is formed as a plate hinge, whereby one wing of the hinge is attached to the rod and the other to the panel, both wings hingeing around the same pin. Each rod component is connected to its corresponding guide by means of a vibration and noise damping device.
