Abstract

The dredging unit is particularly for sand, and uses a cutter blade and water under pressure is introduced into the sand etc. before the blade to loosen it. The water is delivered at a number of different points over the blade cutting face. Water is introduced across the cutter blade for optimum loosening of the sand. The cutter edge has a sawtooth profile, resulting in complete ingress of water across the blade cutting surface.
