Abstract

The intake pipe is for transporting powder, using compressed propellant gas, and immersed in a vessel containing finely divided powder. It has an open-ended section for powder and gas, transporting the latter in suspension from the vessel to the position of use. A gas pipe is concentric to this section, to form an annular intervening gap, and has an opening near the section inlet, through which the gas is delivered into the latter. This produces a high-velocity converging conical current, loosening the powder in the vessel and suspending it in the gas current. The propellant gas is delivered into the gas pipe from a unit storing it under pressure.
