Abstract

The transport mechanism is intended for horizontally moving containers (4). It comprises one or more carrier assemblies (13') each having one pair, or a number of pairs of in-line, and parallel cams (25) with a narrow horizontal upper surface. The total length of each cam, or of the cams which are in-line, at least equals the length or the width of a container. The cams are spaced at a distance equal to the width or the length of a container so that the reinforced corners of the container can rest on the top of the cams. The cams are carried on a movable frame (19) and means are provided for moving and guiding the frame.
