Abstract

Pilot assembly (14) is intended for a hydraulic control valve containing a control member which can vary the cross-sectional area of a port in the valve and which is positioned as a function of the fluid pressure in the valve, the maximum pressure being controlled by an electrical signal. Pilot generates a magnetic field acting on an ball (43) to close an orifice (36) against the pressure of the fluid. The ball (43) which is capable of closing the orifice and the pressure of the fluid acts on the ball via the orifice whilst the force produced by the magnetic field to close the orifice is transmitted via a push rod separate (45).
