Abstract

The seal is of the type used for a tube connection whereby one tube end (4) enters the socket end (2) of the other tube (1) and is sealed therein by means of a seal (21) with two lips (8, 9), one of which (8) is contained in an annular groove (3) in the socket and engages the second lip (9). The lip (8) contains a radially deformable corrugated reinforcing strip (13). The strip is preferably in a thermoplastic material with a laterally or helically extending profilation. One of the lips may be provided with a projection (18) near its extremity, the arrangement being such that when the lips are in contact, there is a hollow space (17) contained between them.
