Abstract

The rear end of the sliding panel is provided with a cam or roller which engages a guide flange as the panel is moved. The flange has an upwardly inclined portion near the rear end of the roof opening. The roof panel is provided with spring-loaded means forcing the panel upwards which travel through a channel along the opening as the panel is moved. Each cam or roller preferably extends laterally from a bracket fixed to the underside of the panel. The spring-loaded means are preferably coil springs on either side of the panel, having a rearward extremity fixed to the panel and a forward extremity carrying the cam or roller.
