Abstract

The tank is divided by a water permeable but solid impervious floor into upper and lower compartments the salt esp NaCl being placed on that floor below a set of distributor nozzles for liq. pumped from the lower compartment under control of a float switch. Fresh liq. is fed into, and soln extracted from, the base compartment by the same pipe system with a shut off valve controlled by two separate floats one to limit the total water level after filling and the other to prevent the lower compartment from being completely emptied. Suitable for use in fully automatic water softener systems.
