Abstract
A small biological sewage purification plant, comprises a surrounding aeration chamber, a central clarification chamber divided at the top into an inner scum trough and an outer clear water trough, and recycling pipe from scum trough to aeration chamber. The aeration and clarification chambers are separated by an additional cylindrical wall; the latter chamber has an activated sludge recycling pipe leading to the aeration chamber and supplied with compressed air through a pipe. Specifically, the clarification chamber is frusto conical, with its axis inclined to the vertical.
