Abstract

Shaped articles are produced from a mixture of (I) a fatty acid ester of cellulose contg. at least 0.29 free OH groups per anhydroglucose unit, and (II) a polymer contg. a major proportion of vinyl acetate. Conventional cellulose triacetate filaments are relatively difficult to dye with disperse dyestuffs. The present modifie cellulose triacetate filaments can be more easily dyed with disperse dyestuffs. The dyed filaments also have an improved fastness to oxygen, ozone and washing. The other desirable physical properties of the filaments remain unaltered.
