Abstract
Description
Electronic messaging is increasing at both institutions and private individuals. Private persons also increasingly have one or more e-mail addresses, while a personal 5 Web page is also within reach of many private persons.
However, if one wishes to send an email to any third party, it is currently difficult to find that person's email address. Unlike normal addresses, e-mail addresses are not linked in a logical and findable manner to a private person or institution.
The present invention provides a method for electronically addressing a person or institution, in which contact is made with publicly accessible data of that person or institution from a database, and where if a link is made by that person or institution with that publicly accessible information, the electronic address of that person or institution can be made visible or the person is addressed invisibly to the sender.
In most countries almost all data of private persons and institutions can be found in an electronic or paper telephone directory. If an Inter-25 network site is available on which all publicly known information of private persons and / or institutions is available, anyone who wishes to can link his e-mail address to the sender of a message in a visible or invisible manner. The e-mail address may also include the fax number, the mobile telephone number for a telephone with e-mail capabilities, and the like. A link can also be made with a Web page from which further data can be derived.
>1 013 7 5 ? 2> 1 013 7 5? 2
The following may serve as an example. If the Internet site where all publicly accessible data is known is called "address guide", after an e-mail has been drawn up, it can be addressed to Mr. Jansen, who has 5, for example, the Dutch telephone number 076 - 56 54 321: jansen31765654321@adresgids.nl.
Depending on the possibilities of the Internet site "address guide" and the wishes of Mr. Jansen, 10 if a link is made by Mr. Jansen with his publicly accessible data on the Internet site "address guide", the message will be sent automatically. It is also conceivable for the user to be shown a screen from which it appears that Mr Jansen has not disclosed any email addresses to this site.
It is also conceivable that Mr Jansen's private Web page is shown to the user, from which further options for sending an e-mail may become visible. As an example of this, the following addressing can be used: www.j ansen31765654321.adresgids.nl.
It should be clear that the Internet site address guide can also be consulted to see which Mr Jansen (in Breda) should be addressed, eg 25 by looking at the possibly known address of Mr Jansen, from which his telephone number, postal code, fax number and such can be derived, which can then be used as an address in the above sense.
The present invention also has advantages if users wish to approach a large number of (legal) persons, such as in so-called direct mailing.
For example, by selecting on the code 76, a large number of people in the Breda region can be notified.
The present invention is not limited to the above-mentioned example; the requested rights are defined by the following claims, within the scope of which many modifications are conceivable.
