Abstract
An input shaft (1) is connected to a driving element (2). An input torque is transferred by planet wheels (3) and a reaction element (4) to a driven element (5) connected to an output shaft (6). The reaction element powers a drive (7) to a hydraulic pump (8). If a control unit (10) does not permit fluid to return to a reservoir (11), fluid pressure is static. The pump and reaction element are stationary and all the torque is transmitted. If there is a return flow, the pump and the reaction element turn, the transmission slips and excess torque is removed hydraulically.
