Abstract

A locking device (100) for securing a foot pedal (10, 20) of a vehicle in an inoperable position is enabled in a compact design. The device includes a frame (110) having a first end (111) and a second end (112) and defining a longitudinal axis; an extendable locking arm (130) mounted at a second end (112) of the frame (110) and adapted for movement between an unlocked position and a locked position, wherein in the locked position the extendable locking arm (130) is extended relative to the longitudinal axis so as to prevent or inhibit operation of said foot pedal, and in the unlocked position the extendable locking arm (130) is retracted so as to allow for operation of said foot pedal; a first locking mechanism (160) mounted at the first end of the frame (110) and adapted to lock the extendable locking arm (130) in the locked position; and a mounting member (140) extending from the frame (110) and adapted to be secured to a portion of said vehicle.
