Abstract

[Problems] To efficiently decrease NOx concentration in cement kiln (5) exhaust gas while maintaining favorable combustion conditions irrespective of type of calciner (3). [Means for Solving Problems] A cement burning apparatus (1) including a burner (14) for blowing a fuel (F3) and a combustion air into an inlet end (4) of a cement kiln (5) to burn the fuel. NOx in the cement kiln (5) exhaust gas can be reduced in a low-oxygen region in the kiln inlet end (4), and burning the fuel improves decarbonation efficiency of a cement raw material also. The burner can include swirl vanes (swirl means) (14b) for swirling flows in which the fuel and the combustion air are mixed. It is preferable that amount of the fuel blown into the inlet end of the cement kiln (5) is equal to or more than 20% and less than 50% of amount of a fuel blown into a calciner (3) attached to the cement kiln (5), and the fuel blown into the inlet end of the cement kiln (5) may include at least one of pulverized coal, heavy oil and inflammable waste.
