Abstract

Disclosed is a method for producing a solid biomass fuel (411) from a botanical raw material including a palm kernel shell (PKS), empty fruit bunch (EFB), or palm press fiber (PPF) of oil palm each being a residue from extraction of palm oil by pressing, or an old oil palm trunk (TRUNK), the method including: a pulverization step of pulverizing the botanical raw material; a removal step of removing potassium and chlorine from the botanical raw material after being subjected to the pulverization step (121); a formation step of forming the botanical raw material after being subjected to the removal step (211) into a pellet; and a modification step of frying the pellet obtained in the formation step (341) with melted palm oil.
