Abstract
A glass substrate for an information recording medium has a rotation center (CP), and includes main surfaces and an outer circumferential edge surface. In the case where a radius of a glass substrate (lG) is R, points R3 on reference lines (BL) that are located0.99R apart from the rotation center (CP) are reference positions, and distances from points located on the main surfaces that coincide with the reference positions when viewed in an extending direction of a rotation axis (Ll) passing through the rotation center (CP), to the reference positions are deviation amounts, on both the front side and the back side, differences between the maximum values and the minimum values of distributions of the deviation amounts in the circumferential direction where the reference positionsare radius positionsare 40 nm or less, and a difference between the average value of the distribution of the deviation amounts in the circumferential direction on the front side and the average value of the distribution of the deviation amounts in the circumferential direction on the back side is 10 nm or less.
