Abstract

THE OPERATION STARTS WITH BLASTING THE AFFECTED SURFACE AREA, FOLLOWED BY WRAPPING AT LEAST ONE LAYER WRAP MATERIAL (12) OVER THE AFFECTED AREA. THE PIPELINE, PIPING, RISER OR METALLIC TUBULAR STRUCTURE IS THEN FURTHER STRENGTHENING BY INTRODUCING A HALF OVERSIZED SLEEVES (20, 22) ON THE AFFECTED AREA. THE MEANS OF TWO HALF OVERSIZED SLEEVES IS HAVING GROOVES (24, 26) AT BOTH TERMINAL END TO ACCOMMODATE SEALING MEANS. THE HALF OVERSIZED SLEEVES WITH LONGITUDINAL FLANGE (23) ARE PLACED WITH A LONGITUDINAL SEAL BEFORE IT IS BOLTED TOGETHER. A GROUT IS THEN INJECTED INTO ANNULAR CHAMBER (28) FORMED THROUGH THE PRE-INSTALLED INLET PORT (30) AT THE CIRCUMFERENTIAL SURFACE OF SLEEVES PROVIDED ALL UNWANTED MATTER IN ANNULAR CHAMBER (28) IS SUBSTANTIALLY REMOVED BY FLUSHING FRESH WATER FOLLOWED BY INERT GAS THROUGH THE OUTLET PORT (32). THE GROUT IS FINALLY ALLOWED TO CURE.
