Description

PACKAGING AND APPLICATION DEVICE FOR A DISGREGABLE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a device for applying a solid, disintegrable product, presented in the form of a bar and mounted in a sliding arrangement within a case. This solid product is, for example, a bar of a colored or colorless lip product, blusher, eyelid shadow, blush or a dermatological bar for the selective treatment of certain parts of the affected skin or lips. More particularly, the invention relates to an application device specially adapted for bars comprising mainly water or volatile constituents such as silicone oils or volatile hydrocarbons. As it is known, such an applicator in the form of lip stick for lip comprises a tubular case in which a bar-holder dome is mounted, capable of sliding axially inside the case, the base of the bar being adjusted in the dome. disintegrable solid product. In the classic REF: 27375 form, such lipstick applicator further comprises actuating means, for example a rotating wheel, with which the user can have the dome slide inside the case to make it come out or between the bar at will. After the use of the applicator, it is closed by means of a cap held fixed on the case. When the solid disintegrable product contains, among other constituents, volatile compounds such as alcohol or volatile hydrocarbon or silicone oils, or also water, it is desirable to limit, or even prevent, the evaporation of the volatile components of the product bar to maintain the properties thereof. . On the other hand, certain constituents of the solid product may be sensitive to oxygen and their degradation may impair the properties of the product. It is then desirable to reduce or even prevent contact of the product bar with ambient air. Accordingly, when the applicator is closed, that is, when it is not used, it is necessary to reduce the volume of air in contact with the product rod inside the case and to maintain this reduced volume of constantly watertight air to prevent the renewal of air in the case. reduced volume. To limit the contact of the product bar with ambient air, US-A-5 533 823 discloses an applicator as defined, provided, at a closed end of the cap, with a sealing sleeve in the form of a bellows. The free end of the bellows defines a sealing surface intended to cover the open end of the case when the applicator is closed by the cap held fixed on the case. However, the bellows permits only an axial movement of compression or expansion of the sleeve and the sealing surface can only move in this axial direction. To seal the open end of the case in a sealed manner, the bellows should be compressed in a regular manner over its entire periphery, which necessitates that the free end of the bellows rests well on the open end of the case. To do this, the cap should be placed in position on the case when it is closed with the cap. Now, when the user quickly closes the applicator, the cap on the case is not always well positioned and the free end of the bellows may not rest on the open end of the case. The bellows is not compressed correctly and the sealing is not ensured satisfactorily on the entire periphery of the open end of the case. On the other hand, the cases do not necessarily have an opening whose edge defines a plane perpendicular to the axis of the case: this edge can present undulations or define a plane that presents an inclination with respect to the geometry of the case. Now, the bellows, described in the patent US-A-5 533 823, it is not compressed so that its free end follows these particular profiles: it is therefore not adapted to sealingly close case openings having these particular profiles. In this case, the contact of the free end of the bellows and the open end of the case is not watertight or volatile products that may be present in the product bar. From US-A-4 168 128, there is also known a liquid product applicator comprising a sealing system in the form of an element made of foam, arranged inside the cap, to prevent the escape of the product, when the applicator is closed by the cap. This applicator is of the application type by transfer by a rotating roller inside a crankcase, applying the roller on the surface being treated. Such an arrangement requires a positioning in position of the foam, as well as an "in situ" configuration, which is disadvantageous from the industrial point of view, and hardly feasible from the technical point of view. The purpose of the present invention is to propose a disintegrable solid product applicator, which is perfectly tight, in particular against the volatile components of the product, whatever the profile of the open end of the case. Another object is to propose an economically advantageous sealing system that is easy to assemble. The object of the present invention is a device for packaging and application of disintegrable solid product in the form of a bar, comprising: a) a case having a longitudinal geometric axis, a first end of which has a free edge that delimits a outlet orifice of the product, a dome that supports said bar inside the case, and actuating means apt to cause an axial sliding of the dome inside the case, b) a removable cap to seal said exit orifice, said cap being closed by one of its ends, there being a first sealing means housed in the closed end of the cap, said first sealing means having a face sealed to the product, intended to rest on the free edge of the case when the cap is held on the case, characterized in that the first sealing means comprises at least one block of a honeycomb material the Aestically compressible in a multidirectional manner to allow a sealed cooperation of said sealed face with the free edge of the case, whatever the profile of said edge. Thus, the block of alveolar material used to make the sealing means of the case opening, thanks to its alveolar constitution and its properties of elastic deformation, is perfectly adapted to the deformation created by the support of the sealed face of said block of alveolar material on the edge of the opening of the case. It thus allows a good support of the watertight face on this edge and the watertight face perfectly home with the profile of said edge, ensuring a perfect watertightness of the case opening regardless of the profile of this edge. On the other hand, such a sealing means allows a good seal to be obtained whatever the angular position of the cap with respect to the case. According to an embodiment of the device of the invention, the sealing face of the first sealing means can be capable of being deformed, in such a way that, when the cap is fixed on the case, the support area of the sealed face the free edge of the case has an annular depression. In particular, this depression can have a profile that follows a cut according to a plane parallel to the axis of the case. For example, the deformation of the annular depression, measured using this axis, can be from about 5 / 100th of a mm to 5mm, preferably from 0.1 to 3mm and better still from 0.5 to 2mm. To maintain a perfect tightness of the device of the invention, the case may comprise a second end opposite the free edge of the first end, a second sealing means forming between the rod and the second end. Preferably, the case comprises an internal surface and the second sealing means may comprise an organ located under the dome, with which it will move axially, said member being apt to be sealed against the internal surface of the case. According to a first embodiment of the invention, the device can comprise an internal skirt having at least one axial opening passing through it, said skirt being free to rotate inside a housing provided with an internal surface that presents at least one helical groove, apt to receive at least one projection located in the dome, through said axial opening, the driving means being capable of actuating the internal skirt in rotation with respect to the envelope. In this embodiment, the second sealing means may comprise a gasket disposed in the vicinity of the second end, between the envelope and the inner skirt. According to a second embodiment of the invention, the case of the device can comprise a sheath, the dome having a central rod provided with an external thread, the driving means being suitable for actuating the rotation of the rod relative to the sheath. In this embodiment, the second sealing means may comprise a joint disposed between the dome and the sheath. The sealed face of the first sealing means can be deformable by following at least one geometric axis substantially parallel to the geometry of the case, so as to coincide perfectly with the relief of the edge of the opening of the case. It can also be biaxially deformable, that is, following at least two directions, one of the directions being able to be substantially parallel to the axis of the case, and the other direction substantially perpendicular to this axis. The sealed face, maintained on the block of alveolar material, can have a surface having any kind of profile that does not impair the sealing function of the sealed face. In particular, the surface can be flat along a plane or perpendicular, or inclined relative to the axis of the case, or it can also be the concave or convex surface.
By matching the sealing face perfectly with the edge of the case opening, it presents a good flexibility. In addition, if the user of the application device activates the drive means that cause the dome to move inside the case, the upper part of the lipstick bar B will remain in contact with the sealing face of the first sealing means according to the invention. the invention. But, being flexible the watertight face, deforms marrying with the form of the part of the bar that remains in contact and the bar is not harmed. Thus, the first sealing means allows to preserve the shape of the lipstick bar for lip, thus avoiding any aesthetic degradation of the bar when the device is operated while it is closed. According to the invention, the sealed face of the first sealing means must be leak-tight to the product, that is to say, that will not let pass the volatile products that may emanate from the product rod housed in the case of the device. According to a first embodiment of the sealed face, it can be a membrane of honeycomb material with closed cells to confer sealing to the membrane. In particular, the alveolar material of the membrane can be identical to that of the block of alveolar material; in this case, the membrane can be an integral part of the block of alveolar material. In another embodiment, the sealed face can be a membrane made of a material different from the honeycomb material of the honeycomb block. The membrane can be fixed on the block of alveolar material by any fixing means known to the person skilled in the art, and in particular by gluing or welding. Advantageously, the block of alveolar material has a first section and the sealed face of the first sealing means has a second section, measured following a plane perpendicular to the geometrical axis of the case, which may be the first section, at least in a part of the axial height of the block, lower or equal to the second section, thus allowing a good grip of the sealing face by the block of alveolar material. The first and second sections, identical or different, must have any shape and in particular triangular, square, polygonal and circular.
The larger one between the first and second sections may be substantially equal to the inner section of the cap or occupy only a part of the inner section of the cap. In the latter case, an annular space can be provided between the first sealing means and the inner surface of the cap. This annular volume has the advantage of leaving a free space to allow the block of alveolar material and the sealed face to deform in a direction substantially perpendicular to the geometry of the case, facilitating the suitability of the sealed face and the block of cellular material for deform in order to ensure a tight seal of the case opening. Also, in. The hypothesis that the block of alveolar material is impregnated with water or solvent, in order to maintain the product in a solvent atmosphere, this annular space allows the passage of the solvent towards the product. The block of alveolar material may have a section, located in a plane parallel to the axis of the case, of any shape, and in particular, straight, trapezoidal or inverted bitrapezoidal (or diabolo).
The block of alveolar material of the first sealing means can be made in one or several parts, each part of the block of alveolar material being made of an identical or different cellular material. Thus, it is possible to form the first sealing means with axial stacking of different blocks of honeycomb material which may have different density and / or thickness and / or nature characteristics. As an alternative, the different blocks of alveolar material are arranged concentrically. The alveolar material of the block and the closed-cell membrane constituting the sealed face can be determined, independently of one another, between polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, polyurethane, polyether, silicone foams. The membrane constituting the sealed face can also be a film chosen from plastic films, aluminum films, metal-plastic complex films, ceramic-plastic films, leather. In particular, the plastic film can be chosen from elastomers, polyethylenes, polypropylenes, EVA or EVOH.
The invention also relates to a lipstick applicator comprising a device as described. The invention consists, apart from the provisions set forth above, in a number of other provisions that will be detailed below, with reference to embodiments described in relation to the attached figures, but which are by no means limitative. Figure 1 is a longitudinal section of a distributor according to a first variant of the invention. Figures 2 to 5 represent, in longitudinal section, different embodiments of a part of the cap of an applicator according to the invention. Figure 6 is a longitudinal section of a part of the cap of an applicator according to a second variant of the invention. Figure 7 is a longitudinal section of a part of the cap of an applicator according to a third variant of the invention. Figure 8 is a curve representing the profile of the deformation of the sealed face of the first sealing means resting on the free edge of a case. With reference to figure 1, we will say that I could see in it a device D for applying a lipstick presented in the form of a rod B of disintegrable product. The device D comprises a case 1 provided with an axis X and a cap 2 held fixed on the case 1. The case 1 has a first end open defining an exit hole 16 of the bar B. This case 1 is equipped of a 3-cylindrical inner skirt with sliding guides 4 constituted by an axial opening, extending substantially from bottom to top following the direction of the axis X. Preferably, two diametrically opposed axial openings 4 are provided. There is a dome 5 mounted in a sliding arrangement inside the inner skirt 3. The base of the lipstick B bar B is received and firmly held inside the dome 5. This cylindrical dome has two diametrically opposed projections 6 , projecting in a radial direction with respect to the X axis. The projections 6 are fitted in the axial openings 4 and pass through these openings emerging with respect to the outer surface 3a of the internal skirt 3. Under the openings 4, the internal skirt 1 is extended. by a cylindrical base 7, closed is at its lower end by a transverse bottom 8. The base 7 seals a second end lb of the case 1. A sheath 9 of plastic material, of reduced thickness, is fixed on the internal skirt 3. The casing 9 is retained axially, in the upper part, by a flange 10 of the internal skirt 3, which is crossed, when adjusting the casing 9 on the skirt. n internal 3, by deformation of this skirt 3. The base 7 forms with the internal skirt 3 a bracket 11 on which the lower end 12 of the cover 9 will rest 9. Thus the casing 9 between the bracket 11 and the bracket 11 is immobilized. the flange 10, but free in rotation with respect to the internal skirt 3. The envelope 9 has on its inner wall 9a two helical grooves 13 offset by 180 °, into which the free ends of the projections 6 enter. The grooves 13 open into the lower part 9a of the casing 9 to allow, in particular, the adjustment of the projections 6. An outer jacket 14, generally metallic and of cylindrical shape, provided with an edge 14a, surrounds the casing 9 and is integral with the casing 9 The edge 14a of the jacket 14, in combination with the flange 10, delimits the product outlet orifice 16 of the case 1. There is an annular seal 15 disposed between the inner wall 9a of the sheath 9 and the outer surface 3a of the skirt. inner 3, next to the abutment 11 of the base 7, that is, near the second end Ib of the case 1. The annular seal 15 ensures the tightness between the bar B and the second end lb of the case 1. The cap 2 comprises a closed end 17 in which is housed a first sealing means 18 comprising a block 19 of honeycomb material. This block of alveolar material 19 has a sealing face 20 made of a material other than the honeycomb block. The sealed face 20 is for example a film fixed on the block of honeycomb material 19, in particular by gluing. The block of alveolar material 19 and the sealed face 20 have a good capacity for deformation under load.
When the device is closed, the cap 2 is held fixed on the case 1 by means of attachment fixation / annular groove 30. The sealing face 20 of the block of cellular material 19 rests on the edge 14a of the sleeve 14 of the case 1 and the alveolar material block 19 is compressed at least mainly due to its honeycomb structure. The sealed face 20 is sufficiently flexible to perfectly coincide with the profile of the edge 14a and ensure a very good seal of the hole 16 of the case 1. The block of honeycomb material 19, when compressed, perfectly follows the deformation of the sealing face 20 in contact with edge 14a. The deformation of the sealing face 20 can, for example, present a profile according to the curve of FIG. 8: the annular zone 20b of the sealing face 20, resting on the edge 14a, defines an annular reinforcement? I, with respect to the area 20a that is in the hole 16 of the case 1. This reinforcement? I can be from 0.05 to 5 mm depending on the deformation flexibility of the honeycomb block 19 and the sealed face 20. Thus, in such a closed device, the lipstick bar B is housed within a defined volume by the internal skirt 3, the sealed face 20 which closes the hole 16 of the case and the dome 5. The tightness of this volume takes place, on the one hand, on its upper part by the sealed face 20 resting on the edge 14a of the jacket 14 and, on the other hand, in its lower part by the sealing joint 15. This air-tight volume prevents the evaporation of the volatile compounds that may be present in the lipstick for lip and limits the contact of the product with the air : it allows a good conservation of the product in the course of time. In the embodiment just described, the casing 9. According to a variant, the casing 9 does not descend to the end lb, and the sealing gasket 15 is disposed directly between the skirt 3 and the jacket 14. The operation of the device D of Figure 1 is immediately derived from the explanations that follow. For a lipstick application using the B-bar, after having removed the cap 2 from the case 1, it is first of all necessary to hold the metal sleeve 14 and rotate, with respect to this sleeve, the base 7 to rotate the sleeve. inner skirt 3. The shirt 14 remains motionless with the sheath 9 and the dome 5 rises inside the internal skirt 3, by displacement of the projections 6 inside the helical grooves 13. -If by inadvertence, the user causes it to turn the base 7 while the device is closed, the upper part of the lipstick rod B will remain in contact with the sealing face 20 of the first sealing means 18. But the flexible sealing face 20 will be deformed in the shape of the sealing part. the bar with which it is in contact and the bar B will not be damaged. Thus, this first sealing means 18 also allows to preserve the shape of the lipstick bar, avoiding with it any aesthetic degradation of the bar when the device is operated while it is closed. Figure 2 shows a variant of the first sealing means, which differs from that shown in Figure 1 by the constitution of the block of cellular material 19. Thus, the block of cellular material 19 is made in two parts 19a, 19b, being each part 19a, 19b is made with a different material, which has mainly deformation properties under different loads. In particular, a foam having a different open cell density that confers a certain flexibility can be used for each part. Such a structure of the block of alveolar material makes it possible to vary the suitability of the block of alveolar material to deformation under load, thereby allowing to obtain variable flexibilities of the first sealing means when it is supported on the case. further, an annular space 32 disposed between the block of honeycomb material 19 and the inner surface 2a of the cap 2 allows the block of honeycomb material 19 and the sealing face 20 to be deformed following a radial direction relative to the X axis upon occurrence of the support on the case. Figures 3 to 5 show three other variants of the first sealing means, which differ from that of figure 1 by the shape of the block of honeycomb material 19. Thus, the part of the block of honeycomb material comprising the sealing face 20 represents a concave or convex profile, as shown respectively in figures 3 and 4. The block of honeycomb material 19 can also have a cross section to the axis X different from section of the sealing face 20, as shown in figure 5. In this figure 5, the sealed face 20 is a film stuck on the block of honeycomb material 19 and the section of the film 20 is larger than the section of the surface 19c of the block of honeycomb material 19 in contact with the film 20. In particular, the block of alveolar material 19, in axial section, has a trapezoidal shape whose smaller side corresponds to the surface 19a in contact with the sealed face 20. Figure 6 shows a variant embodiment of the invention which differs from FIG. 1 by the fact that the open end of the case 1 and the edge 14a of the sleeve 14 define a plane P inclined at an angle a with respect to the axis X. Thus, the open end 16 of case 1 presents beveled shape. The sealed face 20 of the first sealing means 18 remains in sealed contact with the inclined edge 14a and the block of cellular material 19 is deformed in a manner that perfectly fits the inclined shape of the open end of the orifice 16. The compression of the alveolar material 19 is not the same in all points of said block of alveolar material. In effect, the area 19d of the block of honeycomb material 19 in contact with the area 14b of the edge 14a undergoes a compression more important than that of the area 19e of the block of honeycomb material 19 that is in contact with the area 14c of the edge 14a. The alveolar structure of the alveolar material block 19 allows different compressions within the same block of honeycomb material 19 and ensures a good maintenance of the sealing face 20 in contact with the inclined edge 14a. Thus, despite the inclination of the opening 16 of the case 1, the tightness of the volume containing the product bar is well ensured. Such sealing could not be obtained with a bellows device of the type that is described in the aforementioned US-A-5 533 823. Figure 7 shows a variant embodiment of the invention that differs from that shown in Figure 1 by means of entrainment capable of causing the dome to slide inside the case. In this variant, the dome 5 is housed inside a sleeve 21 of tubular shape provided with a first end 22 and a second end 23 open. At the first end it comprises an edge 22a that delimits the opening 16 of the case 1. The edge 22a defines a plane P 'that is substantially perpendicular to the axis X of the case.
The second end 23 is kept on the base 7 in free rotation by means of attachment fixation / annular groove 24. The base 7 is extended, inside the cover 21 by a tubular sleeve 25 endowed at its end 25a with a tapped 26. The dome 5 has a central rod 27 provided with two planes (not shown) and an external thread 28 capable of cooperating with the threading 26 of the sleeve 25. There is a wall 29 provided with an oval hole 30, arranged between the two ends 22, 23. The rod 27 of the dome 5 passes through the hole 30 of the wall 29 of the sheath 21. The rod 27 can be moved axially in translation within the sheath 21 and its rotation is impeded by the shape of the rod 27 and of the hole 30. From the above description, it will be understood that, by rotating the base 7 with respect to the sheath 21, the dome 5 can be slid into the cover 21 at will. dome 5 comprises u An external surface 5a provided with a sealing gasket 31 in watertight contact with the inner wall 21a of the sheath 21. As an alternative, the tightness can be located under the dome 5 by means of a disc integral with the rod 27 and whose periphery is suitable for sealingly rubbing against the inner surface 21a of the sheath, during axial displacement of the dome 5. Such a disc can be made with any suitable elastomeric material. Similarly to the device of figure 1, the cap 2 comprises at its closed end a first sealing means 18 comprising a block of cellular material 19 and a sealed face 20. When the device is closed, the sealed face 20 is located in contact with the edge 22a of the cover 21 and sealingly closes the opening 16 of the case 1. The sealing gasket 31 supported by the dome 5 ensures the sealing at the base of the product bar B. The latter is thus lodged in an air-tight volume and is well preserved in the course of time. We will now describe several examples, not limiting, of realization of the first sealing means.
Example 1: The block of honeycomb material 19 of the first sealing means is a cylinder of polyurethane foam of a height h, measured along the geometric axis X, of 2 cm and a diameter of 1 cm. The sealing face 20 is a silicone disc of a thickness of 1 mm and with a diameter of 18 mm. Such a sealing means is suitable for sealing a case provided with an orifice with an external diameter of 17 mm (corresponding to the external diameter of the jacket 14 for a device according to that of figure 1) and an internal diameter of 14 mm (corresponding to the internal diameter of the internal skirt 3, according to the device of figure 1).
Example 2: The block of foam material 19 is a stack of 2 blocks of foam according to that illustrated in figure 2. Each block of foam material is a cylinder of polyurethane foam of 9 mm thickness and a diameter of 19 mm. The density of open cells of both blocks of alveolar material is different. The sealed face 20 is a sheet of low density polyurethane (LDPE) of 0.1 mm in thickness and has the same cross section (in relation to the geometric axis X) in the block of honeycomb material 19.
Example 3: The block of honeycomb material 19 is in accordance with that of figure 4 and is made of open-celled silicone foam. The sealed face 20 is a covering of the same material as the honeycomb block 19, of which it forms an integral part. In the detailed description above, reference has been made to a preferred embodiment of the invention. It is obvious that variants can be provided without thereby departing from the spirit of the invention as claimed below.
It is noted that in relation to this date, the best method known by the applicant to carry out the present invention, is the conventional one for the manufacture of the objects to which it refers. Having described the invention as above, the content of the following is claimed as property:
