Description

FLEXIBLE GOAL FOR SPORTS D E S C R I P C I O N BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION. Field of Invention - The structure of this invention resides in the area of goals for sports and more particularly refers to a flexible goal, portable for sports, light and that when hit by an individual or with an object with sufficient strength will yield flexing and when that force stop, it will turn itself to reerigir.
Description of the Prior Art. - Many games that use sports goals are often played informally in fields and areas that do not have common goal structures. Because such games are often played in an improvised manner, it is difficult and usually impossible for players to carry conventional sized goals which for most of the time are installed in places or fields or areas of play permanently. In such situations players often use unusual structures such as goals, such as poles, shirts or any visible object that can be used to define a goal area for the purpose of the game. For example, if soccer is played "soccer" or another similar sport where a ball or other object used to play must pass on a goal in order to score points, the ball or other object to play can be directed between two brands in order to provide a situation of scoring points. Many times when informal goals are used, disagreements may appear among the players if the points have been marked based on whether the object to play has passed on the outside or above the informal goal. To address the foregoing, portable goals for sports using various frames have been developed in the prior art.
THE INVENTION It is an object of this invention to provide an economical, lightweight, flexible and self-contained portable sports goal that can be used in an informal football game or other goal-requiring game, which goal for sports is an alternative to the portable goal for sports. described in my US patent do not. 5 '244, 213 which describes first and second poles held at 90 ° to one another by clamping members stretched together by a strip. In the present invention the frame can be instantaneously placed for use and quickly and easily folded for storage. As there are no separate parts of the sports goal of the present invention, there is no possibility of losing parts of the goal either in its mode of use or in its saved mode. Therefore, it is an object of the sports goal of this invention, when in its mode of use, to be extremely light and portable so that it can be transported and moved by hand. When you want the sports goal to be placed in its save mode, it can easily be folded and stored. Therefore, it is still a further object of this invention that the vertical, upright portion of the sports goal yields elastically when hit by a player or the object with which it is played. This safety feature allows the vertical portion of the structure to yield when sufficient external pressure is applied against it and to spring back to its original erect vertical position when that pressure ceases. To accomplish these objectives, the sports goal of this invention is provided with a wire frame permanently bent at the same 90 ° angle on two opposite sides and maintained in an arched state by the shape of the wire frame or, if the frame Wire generally forms a circular configuration, by a strip or other member, such as a floor, which extends between and attaches to the two folds. This structure forms two U-shaped portions, one resting horizontally on the ground defining a base and the other vertically disposed with a network member interconnecting that U-shaped horizontal portion to the U-shaped erect portion., vertically arranged with the final open area that defines an opening or "mouth of goal". The wire frame can be made of a narrow gauge spring or flexible steel wire or a bar such that when sufficient pressure is placed against the vertical U-shaped portion, the latter bends backward and / or toward the sides, towards the U-shaped horizontal portion. The U-shaped vertical portion will return to its erect position when the pressure against it ceases, such as that of a player making on the structure or a ball hitting the structure. It will be noted that the goal of this invention can receive a ball, disk or other game object used in the game being played.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS. Figure 1 illustrates a perspective view of the portable sports goal of this invention. Figure 2 illustrates a perspective view of the portable sports goal of this invention, which has a floor with a drop of an individual against its vertical U-shaped portion. Figure 3 illustrates the principle of the goal fold process portable for sports of this invention before the structure is saved. Figure 4 illustrates the continuation of the folding process of Figure 3 wherein the structure is twisted and clamped in its angular bands and joined together. Figure 5 illustrates the portable sport goal of this invention in its folded position for storage or storage; and Figure 6 illustrates the wire frame of the portable sports goal with a retaining strip used in place of a net.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OR REALIZATIONS. The framework of the sports goal of this invention can be made from a generally unitary construction in a new preformed configuration to produce a goal that is light and portable and that can be instantaneously placed and easily folded for storage. The goal can withstand pressures against it such as that of individuals falling against it without breaking and will return as spring to its original position once that pressure ceases. Figure 1 illustrates a perspective view of a sports goal 12 of this invention shown with a wire 10 which may be a spring steel wire, a bar or its equivalent with a diameter of approximately 3/16"which is bend to form first and second folds 16 and 18. Wire 10 has first and second ends 50 and 52, as seen in Figure 6, which ends are joined by welding or equivalent joining means to form first, in one embodiment , a generally circular wire configuration Extending between the internal portions of the wire 10 is a network member 22. The wire 10 may be contained within the sleeve 24, as seen in Figure 1, which may be of cloth or other material flexible equivalent to which the net member 22 can be fastened Folds 16 and 18 first and second at right angles are positioned approximately opposite one another on the wire 10. The strip 20 stretches inwardly s first and second folds 16 and 18 and this strip 20 can be fastened to the wire or sleeve 24, forming a U-shaped member 25 horizontally arranged to be placed on the ground when in use having horizontal side members 32 and 34 first and second that are curved around the end portion 14 and generally vertically disposed U-shaped member 23 formed by the vertical side members 26 and 28 that curve around the portion 29 of the top portion. In figure 6 the vertical and horizontal U-shaped members are also illustrated. These members are not separate discrete members but are continuous when forming the goal structure of a single piece of wire that is flexible. The vertical U-shaped member 23 forms an opening or mouth 30 of the goal where the ball or other game object passes for scoring purposes. The angle 36 in both bends between the U-shaped horizontal member 25 and the U-shaped vertical member 23 can be, in a preferred embodiment, about 90 °. When the strip 20 or other equivalent securing means, such as a floor 19, seen in Figure 2, is secured to those folds, it stretches the angularly bent portions of the wire toward each other, which fold portions are arranged in opposition to each other. each other on wire 10 if the wire was considered a circular structure. The wire member 22 is structured to be rigid between the U-shaped horizontal member 25 and the vertical U-shaped member 23., this can be extended and attached to the sleeve around the U-shaped horizontal member 25. In some embodiments the network member 22 can be replaced by a second retaining strip 56, as seen in Figure 6, which extends from the upper portion 29 of the U-shaped vertical member 23 to the end portion 14 of the U-shaped horizontal member 25, which replacement network will lighten the weight of the portable sports goal. In Figure 2 an individual can be seen falling against the U-shaped vertical member 23 such that the vertical U-shaped member 23 bends backward, causing wrinkling of the network member 22. The vertical U-shaped member 23 will spring back to its upright position because of the elastic nature of the spring steel wire when the individual no longer makes contact with the sports goal. The U-shaped vertical member can no longer move beyond the horizontal U-shaped member because of the predetermined length of the net member 22 or second retainer strip 56 between the portion 29 of the upper part of the vertical member 23 in U-shape and end portion 14 of the U-shaped horizontal member 25, which network length helps maintain the vertical U-shaped member 23 at an angle of approximately 90 ° with the horizontal U-shaped member. Because of its simplicity of design, my new invention is economical in its manufacture. For purposes of storing or storing the wire frame of the structure of this invention, it is not usually separated from the net member and sleeve, but the structure can be easily twisted and folded for storage and transport, thus leading folds 16 and 18 first. and second, as seen in Figure 3. When the first and second folds 16 and 18 are brought towards each other, the structure itself twists and forms two continuous spring steel wire rings, the first ring 42 and the second ring 44, as seen in Figure 4, where the spring steel wire 10 forms a bend at point 46. When the first and second folds 16 and 18 are joined, the two wire rings are joined, as it has been described before and as seen in Figure 5, such that the side members 32 and 26 are placed in an oval manner with the strip 20 when loosely disposed therebetween with the stacked network member 22. A short strip 58 or equivalent restriction means can be used to retain the structure in its flattened, stored mode, as illustrated in FIG. 5, such that it can be easily stored or stored in a practically flat position, either for boarding or to transport from one place to another. Figure 6 illustrates the wire 10 without the network member, but instead has a second retaining strip 56 and shows the ends of the unitary bent wire which are joined together within the receiving member 54 with first and second end 50 and 52 of the wire 10 securely held within the receiving member 54. However, this joining structure is not usually seen when the goal of this invention is used because the entire wire structure is usually contained within the sleeve 24 which may also be fastened to the network 22 as seen in Figure 1. Although the present invention has been described with reference to particular embodiments, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that variations and modifications can be substituted therein without departing from the principles and spirit of the invention.
