HINGE CLOSURE FOR CONTAINER
DESCRIPTION The invention relates to a hinge closure for a container comprising a ring adapted to be inserted on the edge of the opening of that container, as well as with a cover attached by means of a hinge to the ring and resting on it in position closing. The patent FR 2529865 already relates to a hinge closure for an oblong container with a ring sealed on the edge of the container opening and a lid attached by means of a hinge to that ring. This lock comprises a closure system with a protrusion on the ring, adapted to be inserted in a hole in the cover: the drawback of this solution is that, when the cover is closed, there is a very great difficulty to open it, because in First, it is not known how to disinsert the protuberance. The object of the present invention is that of finding a hinge closure system that provides a comfortable opening for the user, while guaranteeing a good seal, both primary and secondary. By primary sealing, watertightness is understood before the first opening and secondary sealing, that after the first opening. The invention relates to a hinge closure, according to the preamble of clause 1, in which the ring comprises, on the side opposite the hinge, a locking tab with a rod, mounted in a hinge on the ring and which it is provided to be housed in a corresponding recess of the lid; that rod is inserted to ratchet at the moment of closure in a socket located at the top of the recessed lid. By container, it is understood in the present invention, a container of practically rectangular or square section so that the lid and the ring are practically rectangular or square. If the container is of rectangular section, the two hinges are in the length of those rectangles. One could also have a container with almost elliptical section, in which case the lid and the ring are also rectangular and the hinges are in a position parallel to the main axis of the ellipse. The container can be used for the conditioning of any pasty, granular, powdery product, in particular soluble coffee. Of course it can also be used for cosmetic products. The container is preferably glass or an equivalent product, and the hinge closure is made of polypropylene, polyolefin or polystyrene, preferably polypropylene. The hinge closure according to the invention can be presented in one piece or in two pieces (cover and ring) and is molded or injected. According to the invention, the fact of having a closure tongue with a rod that is inserted in a ratchet on the socket of the cover, allows to have a security of visual closure, since the closure of that tongue is well seen and the security of closing is also auditory, since the inserted ratchet allows the emission of a sound that also guarantees good closure. On the edge of the opening of the container, before the first opening, a membrane is provided, either sealed, either glued, or welded, with the possibility of peeling easily, if necessary. When the container has already been opened the first time, it is necessary to guarantee a secondary tightness, in order to minimize the risks of organoleptic deterioration of the product contained in the container. To do this, it is necessary to provide on the cover, an inner skirt on which a joint rests. That joint is foam or foam / cardboard compound. Polyethylene foam coated or not with polyethylene or with polypropylene. The foam must have a certain compressibility and a density between 150 and 250 kg / m3. This joint has a thickness between 1 and 4 mm. In order to further improve the guarantee of the closure, it is possible to provide a bulging parallel to the alveolus and of a length equal to that of the alveolus in the recess of the lid, next to the closure socket. In relation to the width of the recess in the lid and therefore with the >; width of the closing tongue, the rod has practically one third of this width. Therefore, the alveolus and the bulge have practically the same dimensions. The description below is made referring to the drawings in which: Figure 1 represents a perspective view of the hinge closure according to the invention; Figure 2 is a schematic representation of the hinge closure, arranged on a container in the open position; Figure 3 is a partial half section of the hinge closure according to the invention, in the closed position; Figure 4 is an amplification of the part A of the cut according to Figure 3;
Figure 5 is an amplification of the part B of the cut according to Figure 3; Figure 6 is an amplification of the part C of the cut according to Figure 3 in a second embodiment; and Figure 7 is a partial half section of the hinge closure according to the invention, with the ring and the lid in one piece. The hinge closure (1) comprises a ring (2) adapted to be inserted over the edge of the opening of a container and a cover (3) joined by means of a hinge (4) to the ring. The lid (3) comprises a bottom (5), a skirt (6) and a recess (7) with an alveolus (8) arranged near the bottom (5) of the lid. The ring (2) comprises an outer skirt (11) and an upper edge in two parts: the outer part (12) on which it will be supported at the moment of closure of the cover (3), the inner edge (13) of the lid (3) and a raised edge (14) further comprising the edges (15), 4 edges in the present embodiment. These stops allow the moment of the placement of the hinge closure, guarantee permanent maintenance of the closure on the edge of the container opening. According to the invention, a closure tab (9) of a width substantially equal to the width of the recess (7) of the lid is provided on the ring on the side opposite the hinge (4); this tongue comprises a rod (10) provided to fit into the socket (8) of the lid. The tongue is mounted according to a hinge (20) on the ring (2). Finally, a seal (18) is provided in the lid (3): this gasket is held in place thanks to the stops (19) (figure 3). The operation of the closure will be better understood by referring to Figure 2 showing that closure on the container (16). First it is necessary to forcefully insert the ring (2) on the upper edge (17) of the opening of the container. It starts from the open position, as shown in figure 2; the lid (3) according to the hinge (4) must pivot in a closing direction until the lower part of the skirt (6) rests on the outer part (12) of the edge of the ring (2). The raised part (14) ensures good maintenance of the closure on the neck of the container. Then, it is enough to push the closing tongue (9) towards the closed lid, so that the rod (10) comes to be inserted in a ratchet on the socket (8). Figures 3 and 5 are partial sections of Figure 2 and again represent, in large part, the elements of the first two figures: these figures show an embodiment with a ring and a lid in two parts. Therefore, we limit ourselves to explanations that have not yet been given in relation to the first figures. It is clearly shown in figure 3, the inner skirt (21), on which the joint (18) rests; that board is held in place thanks to the stops (19). Figures 4 and 5 show well the container (16) with the upper edge (17) and, on the neck, an edge (22) that guarantees the maintenance of the ring (2) to prevent it from coming up and a flange ( 23) that prevents the ring from slipping down. Referring to figure 3, the rod looks good
(10) inserted to ratchet in the alveolus (8). On the other hand, it is also seen that, for the joint (18), some elasticity is needed to allow its compression between the inner skirt (21) of the lid and the upper edge (17) of the container (16), which guarantees That way a good tightness. Referring to figure 4, it is well seen that the lower part (12) of the ring (2) will serve as a stop against the rim (23) of the container, to prevent the ring from slipping down and that the raised part ( 14) of the ring will come into contact with the rim (22) of the container to prevent any possibility of exit of the ring from the neck of the container. Referring to Figure 5, it is clear that there is a ring (2) and a lid (3) in two parts; in effect, the lid (3) pivots about the hinge (4) and has an extension (24) that is inserted in a ratchet on the ring (2). Figure 6 is an amplification of the closing tab with its rod (10) and the socket (8) in which it comes to lodge, according to a different embodiment of the preceding figures. To further improve the closing guarantee, a supplementary bulge (25) is provided in the lid (3), next to the alveolus (8). The rod (10) is thus located in the alveolus (8) and to open, an additional force is needed to overcome the bulky (25). Figure 7 shows the container (16) on ontado by a hinge closure (30) in one piece. The ring (31) has a cover (32) mounted in rotation according to a hinge (33); the lid comprises an inner skirt (34). In this figure, the board is not represented. The ring (31) comprises a closing tab (35) that pivots according to the hinge (36); that tab comprises a rod (37) that is inserted in a ratchet on the alveolus
(38) arranged in the recess (39) of the lid (32). In the closure according to the invention, there is the lid and the closing tongue, both of which comprise hinges. Of course, the plastic material used must be strong enough to support at least 300 openings without breaking. The polypropylene is satisfactory in any case. But of course, you can use other materials that suit you well.
